For my movie review I chose to watch the infamous horror film Silence of the Lambs  directed by Jonathan Demme. Following along with the Hannibal Lecter film series, the movie shows a FBI agent, Clarice Starling using what she has learned from her training to get inside a renowned serial killers mind, Hannibal Lecter. Although Hannibal Lecter is not the target of the murders happening in the movie, the FBI has reason to believe that he may know more information than themselves. Buffalo Bill is the main suspect, an active killer on who they are trying to identify and locate. Clarice Starling is top of her class and uses odd connection with Lecter to get information that might be useful to find Buffalo bill before its too late for his most recent victim. Throughout the movie you get to watch Clarice and Hannibal Lecter develop a special bond though his cell at the maximum security isolation cell in Pennsylvania.

When I first starting watching this movie it was kind of hard to get into. I really like horror movies especially they way that they are filmed. At first it was very grey which I eventually got used to and when the pieces starting coming together more the theme felt more fitting. The plot was really interesting, I liked how they had to antagonist where with buffalo bill you wanted to find him so bad and save the girl he had kidnapped. While watching clarice get so close to finding him with the help of Dr. Hannibal Lecter you can’t kept but feel the tiniest bit of empathy for the two while they are working together.

My favorite scene from the whole movie was definitely when Clarice and Bill are in the basement, you can see the sheer panic yet she is trying to keep calm. You watch this happen through Buffalo Bills night vision goggles while he is remaining perfectly calm.
